And here is a rather
amusing historical coincidence: Emperor Francis Joseph I of
Austria-Hungary was born on exactly the same day — 18 August 1830. 👑
Perhaps this explains my
lifelong fascination with Austrian history. 😊
But the family connection
goes even further. In honour of His Imperial Majesty, my grandfather, born in
1909, was given the names Francis Joseph. And I inherited Franciszek
as my middle name from him.
As for Andrzej,
that comes from my great-grandfather, Andrzej Frąckowiak, born in 1872.
So, strictly speaking, I
was destined to become a historian from the very beginning. I was simply given no
choice in the matter. 😂
